Most referrals to other specialists will require you seeing or speaking with a GP. However, there are a number of local services, listed below, that you are able to make self referrals to.

Anyone in Kent and Medway who is not currently receiving care or treatment from KMPT (sometimes referred to as Kent and Medway secondary care mental health services) can contact the Urgent Mental Health Helpline on 0800 783 9111. Help with mental health in Surrey and Kent. With You (previously Thinkaction) is a charity offering free talking therapies like counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) in Surrey and Kent. We can help with a range of mental health problems, including stress, anxiety and depression.
You don’t need a referral from your GP but you do need to be: aged 17 or over registered with a GP in Surrey or Kent.

Find a psychological therapies service in England
You can refer yourself directly to a psychological therapies service (IAPT) without seeing your GP.
These services offer therapies, such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), for common problems including: stress, anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and phobias
